I always admire shoes with a soft-spoken sense of style and the Under Armour Charged Escape 3 has just that. The Under Armour Charged Escape 3 creates a secure but non-restrictive cocoon around the foot. Pairing it down would also make this already lightweight shoe even lighter!Īs stated earlier, the lace cage and padded tongue provide great comfort but they also lock down your foot very securely. It just seemed unnecessary for a road running training shoe. One thing I didn't like was the bulky ankle collar. I could not ask for more regarding traction on verified surfaces.
On wet pavement, the sole performed exceptionally well. I was really impressed with how grippy the rubber of the sole is. I wouldn't hesitate to use this shoe in a 5K fun run or something similar but would shy away from running any longer races in the Under Armour Charged Escape 3. The solid lockdown of the lace cage allowed me to corner nice and quickly. The Under Armour Charged Escape 3 has a nice quick energy return about it. The Charged Escape 3 is responsive and fast While running in these shoes I would have liked a little more cushion, but ultimately I was pretty happy with the responsive nature of the sole. The upper mesh is breathable and pliable. The cushion of the tongue is superbly engineered and locks down on the top of the foot very comfortably. The midsole is supportive but not too rigid. The Under Armour Charged Escape 3 has a super comfortable feel to it. It is not a long-distance runner, but that said, I did find it to be very comfortable and well suited on the treadmill for 3-4 miles. While slated as a running shoe, the Under Armour Charged Escape 3 can find its home on a spin bike, a CrossFit class, tennis or racquetball, or just working out at the gym. Good for running but Great for everything else 9.5 in most brands and the Escape fits me perfectly. The Under Armour Charged Escape 3 fits true to size.
